Dr. Zhong has over 14 years of academic and industrial research experience in applying data mining and machine learning techniques to solve large-scale problems in the area of online search, internet advertising, marketing/pricing optimization, fraud detection, and business data analytics. He is extremely enthusiastic about formulating practical and impactful data mining problems and prototyping efficient solutions. He is currently the chief scientist at Adometry (formerly Click Forensics).
Dr. Zhong has been working for Adometry (formerly ClickForensics) since November 2009. Adometry now serves large advertisers and agencies for their ad analytics needs, providing SaaS solutions to attribution and optimization problems.
Prior to Adometry, Dr. Zhong worked for Zilliant, a pricing optimization software company in Austin, Texas. He led a science role in both client-facing pricing optimization projects as well as internal R&D projects on price segmentation and demand modeling.
Before Zilliant, he had been with Yahoo! Data Mining and Research group since December 2005. At Yahoo, he worked on a range of interesting data mining problems, including advertiser content risk classification, Yahoo data mining platform, behavioral targeting, user segmentation and profiling, and advertiser analytics.
Even earlier, he worked as an assistant professor (2003-2005) in the CSE Department at Florida Atlantic University. He received an IBM Faculty Award in 2004.
Dr. Zhong earned his PhD in computer engineering (with a focus on data mining) from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003. Before 2003, he had interned with Honeywell Technology Center (Minneapolis MN), Pavilion (Austin TX), Compaq (Austin TX), and IBM (Austin TX), working on various pattern recognition and data mining problems and applications.
Throughout his career, Dr. Zhong has published more than 30 journal and conference papers. He is also the co-inventor of two awarded US patent and six pending US patent applications.

2011-04: Click Forensics bought Adometry and changed name to Adometry to better reflect its mission of serving large advertisers and agencies (display and cross-channel).
2010-09-01: Click Forensics was named this year's Most Innovative Company at the Austin Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Awards dinner. Yeah!
2010-07-19: Back to work from a vacation in Shanghai, China.Went to see the World Expo - an excellent experience!
